Isabel Cancela de Abreu

Founder and Executive Director, Lusophone Renewable Energy Association

Isabel Cancela de Abreu is the founder and executive director of Lusophone Renewable Energy Association, a non-profit organization with the mission of promoting renewable energy in Portuguese-speaking countries in Africa, including Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, São Tomé and Príncipe, Guinea-Bissau and Equatorial Guinea. Isabel’s major job in the organization is to support national and international authorities to create a favorable regulatory framework that facilitates private investments in renewables in these countries. She also uses the Association as a platform to coordinate all RE stakeholders in the region. Isabel holds a Master in Sustainable Energy Systems.
