Senior Regional Thematic Specialist on Labour Mobility and Human Development, International Organization for Migration (IOM)
Michael joined IOM’s Regional Office in Vienna in January 2017 as the Regional Thematic Specialist for Labour Mobility and Human Development (LHD) for the South-Eastern Europe, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia Region. He provides technical support, policy expertise, capacity building, and training to governments, IOM officials, and other relevant stakeholders throughout the region. Michael previously held the position of Regional Thematic Specialist for LHD for the Middle East and North Africa Region working in Cairo from 2012 to 2016. He has also worked with IOM in Bogota in 2007 and Mauritius in 2008 and 2009. From 2009 to 2011, Michael worked as Senior Policy Advisor in the Labour Market and Immigration Division for the Government of British Columbia, Canada.
