State Minister of Water, Irrigation and Energy of Ethiopia
Frehiwot Woldehanna, State Minister of Water, Irrigation and Energy, has a background in Electrical Engineering and Renewable Energy Technology, and his current assignment in the Government position is to lead the energy sector mainly electric power system and rural energy services. Prior to his appointment to the current position in 2017, he has served at Addis Ababa University for over thirty years and currently working as Associate Professor in his area of study. At the University, he has also served in different administrative positions. Mr. Frehiwot is currently Supervisory Board Chairman for the Ethiopian Energy Authority as well as the Ethiopian Rural Electrification Fund. He is a member of the Ethiopian Society of Electrical Engineers.
