Senior Program Coordinator, Climate Investment Funds (CIF)
Dr. Zhang joined the CIF in 2011 to manage the Clean Technology Fund and the Program for Scaling up Renewable Energy in Low Income Countries with a combined portfolio of over USD 6 billion. From 2004 to 2011 he was with the Global Environment Facility where he led the development and implementation of the climate change focal area strategy and was extensively involved in the UN climate change negotiations. Dr. Zhang started his career at the World Bank in the early 1990s and also served as Chief Technical Advisor with UNIDO to manage energy efficiency projects in China.
