The VEF Virtual Series is a platform with the overarching goal of progressing agreed recommendations and delivering policy briefs with action-oriented solutions in targeted locations, to assist countries around the world align their recovery efforts with an Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Development. 
 
The culmination of the VEF Series will witness the launch of three global programmes addressing the needs of developing countries and emerging economies, and unlocking opportunities to pursue the energy nexus with the three end-use sectors. 
 
Guided by the theme "Accelerating Energy Transition," the 2021 edition of the Series will explore the pathways that stimulate demand and promote economic recovery in three end-use sectors:

The sessions in the Food Systems Track will serve as a platform to discuss pathways to better align the energy transition with the food systems transformation, focusing on opportunities in developing countries.

The sessions in the Industry Track will explore the integration of sustainable energy in the industrial sector.

The sessions in the Products Track will focus on energy efficiency in building-related products, specifically addressing the efficiency of appliances.

January Edition

Youth, Gender and Equity

The January Session of the VEF Virtual Series (12-13 January 2021) will focus on the importance of empowering women and youth to accelerate the clean energy transition. It will feature women and youth leaders that have broken through barriers and become actors of change in the road towards a clean and inclusive energy transition. 

 

The Session will focus on local and innovative solutions that have the power to lead a transformative change in the energy sector and the potential to shift societies towards a sustainable recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
