Vienna Energy Forum 2020

The Fourth Industrial Revolution as a catalyst for energy transition

Official Statement

VIENNA ENERGY FORUM POSTPONED

In light of a global health crisis unlike any other in our lifetime, the co-organizers of the Vienna Energy Forum (VEF) – the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs, the Austrian Development Agency, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization and the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis – have decided to postpone the Vienna Energy Forum to 2021. The new dates will be announced soon.

This preventive measure has been taken to safeguard the health of all participants, partners and staff and support the global emergency response to the coronavirus pandemic.

The co-organizers of the Vienna Energy Forum join the international community in solidarity during this challenging time and offer deepest sympathy to the affected countries.

The VEF Team will remain active and continue the preparatory process to ensure that the next Vienna Energy Forum becomes a catalyzer of change in defining the legacy of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and an enabler of the energy transition.

As we move forward, the VEF Team will work closely with its co-organizers and partner organizations, and will post regular updates on our website and social media accounts.
